Itinerary…

 

Day 1 & 2:      HONOLULU – Depart Honolulu International Airport, crossing the date

 (7 & 8 Nov)    line on our way to Christchurch, New Zealand.

                        (ITT offers free bus transfers from Ticket office to Honolulu Airport –

                        Reservations required).

                        NZ-009 – Honolulu/Auckland/Christchurch – depart: 21:45

 

Day 3:             CHRISTCHURCH - ‘Haera-mai’ (Welcome)

(9 Nov)            Arrive in Christchurch, meet your Captain (driver/narrator) and you will be transferred to your hotel via a mini sightseeing tour of the charming ‘Garden City’ of Christchurch, the city that shines!  The gateway to a southern world of clean natural beauty, action and excitement.  The South Island’s largest city boasts graceful parks, rivers and beaches that provide a dazzling backdrop to lively new buildings mingled with those of historic gray and white stones. 

Check into Hotel with the rest of the day at leisure.

 DAY 4:           CHRISTCHURCH/DUNEDIN

(10 Nov)          This Early morning journey by coach takes you to Dunedin ‘the Edinburgh of the South.’  Sit back and enjoy the scenery as you travel across the manicured Canterbury Plains to seaside Timaru, Whitestone, Oamaru and alongside the rugged coastline to Palmerston.  Then it’s around the Kilmog and Mt. Cargill to the very Scottish city of Dunedin.

En-route - walk on the Moeraki Beach (tides permitting) to view the unique and fascinating Moeraki boulders.

On arrival in Dunedin, our Captain will take us on a drive to the tip of Otego Peninsula for our adventure at the Albatross Colony Center. This is a must for nature lovers.  En-route we will also visit the famous Larnach Castle, New Zealand’s only authentic castle.

Return to our hotel and the rest of the evening at leisure.

DAY 5:                        DUNEDIN/TE ANAU

(11 Nov)         This morning enjoy a cooked breakfast at the hotel and the rest of the morning

            for you to browse Dunedin on your own.  Recommend: Cabury’s Chocolate

            Factory or the Beer Brewery.

Afternoon depart Dunedin by coach for Te Anau the rich farming country of South Otego and Southland as we travel to Balclutha and turn west to Gore.  The countryside becomes drier as we reach Lumsden, Moossburn and the first glimpse of Fiord land.  Our Captain will acquaint you with this small town of Te

Anau before we arrive at our hotel.  Rest of the evening is at leisure.

DAY 6:                        TE ANAU/MILFORD SOUND/QUEENSTOWN

(12 Nov)          Breakfast at hotel

Great adventures are in store for us today as we discover the magic and majesty of Milford Sound.  Our journey through the National Park of over one and a half million hectares, boasting some of the world’s most beautiful alpine and fiord scenery.

The Hollyford Valley leads to the famous Homer Tunnel through the mountain range on our way to the Milford Sound.  Here we’ll take a memorable cruise on this famous fiord, the flooded remains of an ancient glacier.  Our ‘Red Boat’ cruises to the open Tasman Sea and offers one of the most enduring images of unspoiled New Zealand - a remote fiord of spectacular beauty and natural grandeur.  Cruise down the deep icy blue waterway and crashing waterfalls of the Sound, past the famous Mitre Peak, one of the most spectacular mountains in the world… also, a chance to see playful dolphins, penguins, and seals sunbathing on the rocks.            

                        Return to Te Anau and on to Queenstown.

DAY 7 & 8:                QUEENSTOWN

(13 & 14 Nov) Queenstown sits astride Lake Wakatipu, overlooking the most remarkable range of mountains you’ll ever see.

A day of leisure - enjoy the excitement and activities available in this Alpine Resort. 

Your tour guide and Captain are available to assist you with sightseeing information and reservations.  Optional tours include white water rafting - jet boating, bungee jumping, hiking, golf, and cruise across Lake Wakatipu to visit Walter Peak Sheep Station, or ride up the Queenstown gondola to the Skyline Restaurant and see the spectacular scenery and night-lights.

Recommendation: Dinner atop Bobs Peak at the Skyline Restaurant or across the lake at Walter Peak Station.

DAY 9:                        QUEENSTOWN/FOX GLACIER

(15 Nov)          We pass through Arrow town, scene of a historic gold rush in 1862, then travel north via Lakes Tekapo.  Enjoy the rugged scenery through the Haast Pass and continue on to spectacular Mount Cook – Some of the most stunning scenery you will see anywhere in the world.  The region imposing mountain chain, velvety rainforest lush in varying shades of green and coast that stretches approximately 600 kilometers in length will take your breath away at first sight.  Home to five national parks and declared a World Heritage area, the South West is not only stunning visually but also rich in history.  Originally settled by the Maori, the first gold rush brought Europeans to the region with their pioneer spirit still living strong today.   Arts and crafts, festivals, museums and historical buildings abound to tell the story of early hardship and later achievements.

This is one place visitors to New Zealand should not miss – it is the epitome of Kiwi brilliance.

Recommendation: Optional tour on a scenic flight (weather permitting) to view the amazing alpine region with vast snowfields, glaciers and New Zealand highest mountain peaks.

                        We continue our journey North passing through Kawarau Gorge, Lake

                        Hawea and Lake Wanaka arriving at Fox Glacier for an overnight stay.

Day 10:           FOX GLACIER/CHRISTCHURCH

(16 Nov)          Breakfast at hotel.

                        This morning take some time for a short walk to view the glacier or

                        perhaps take an optional scenic flight (weather permitting) to see the

                        Glacier.                         

Our return trip to Christchurch we will view some unrivalled

scenery through Arthur’s Pass and the Southern Alps.

DAY 11:          CHRISTCHURCH
 (17 Nov)           Rest of the day at leisure

Christchurch – is a city that shows distinct English heritage and a place where one can simply enjoy living.  Wander and discover quaint shops, stately private gardens and homes, art and craft exhibitions, and the fabulous local wineries.

DAY 12:          CHRISTCHURCH/HONOLULU

 (18 Nov)         Early morning rise and shine for our journey back home.                              

Harare’ (farewell/goodbye) to beautiful New Zealand and our coach Captain.

CANCELLATION POLICY:  An administration fee will be charged for cancellation of tour.

However, should customer cancel tour (other than health reasons-documentation is required), some penalties will apply depending on airline/hotel vendors’ fee.

This package is based on 12 passengers and up.  Therefore, if passenger count is lower than 12, we may have to cancel tour and return all monies to customers without penalty.   

 

TRAVELING DOCUMENTS:  Passengers on tour must possess a current passport of at least six months validity.  No visas are required for New Zealand.

 

HEALTH – IMMUNIZATIONS: Not required.  However, updating your health record is recommended.  For further information on immunization for New Zealand call 448-2295.
